SPELL-WRITE: AN AID TO WRITING AND SPELLING

A valued aid to spelling for students aged around 8–11 years, including Essential Word Lists. Based on research conducted by Cedric Croft and Lia Mapa for the New Zealand Council for Eductational Research, the words listed within Spell-Write reflect words most commonly used in writing by students from Years 3-8. In addition to the Alphabetical List, there are strategies for learning to spell a word, word groups, 55 commonly misspelt words and hints for spelling other words. 

Spell-Write (revised), and the research undertaken prior to its development, continues to reflect the principle that spelling is primarily a skill of writing which is best mastered by students within the context of learning to write.
